The BRITACOM Council Meeting was successfully held at the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Academy (BRITA)•Beijing on 24-25 April 2025. Over the two days, senior tax officials from more than 20 jurisdictions, along with representatives from international organizations and academia, engaged in in-depth discussions either onsite or online on strategies for enhancing international tax cooperation and promoting global economic governance.

The Fifth Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum (BRITACOF), on the theme of “Deepening Tax Administration Cooperation for High-Quality Belt and Road Development”, was successfully convened in Hong Kong, China on 24 September 2024. Autumn is a harvest time of the year, so does this fruitful BRITACOF. After three days of discussions, the fifth BRITACOF drew to a close on 26 September with all agenda fulfilled and nine outcomes released on September 26. Mr. Wang Daoshu, Executive Secretary of the BRITACOM Secretariat introduced the contents of outcomes, namely Four Reports of the Task Forces of the Nur-Sultan Action Plan (2022-2024), the Joint Statement of the Fifth Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum, the Hong Kong Action Plan (2025-2027), Maldives Inland Revenue Authority joining the BRITACOM as a new Member Tax Administration, the establishment of the BRITA•Algiers, and the Annual Report of the BRITACOM (2024).

The 5th Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum (BRITACOF) themed “Deepening Tax Administration Cooperation for High-Quality Belt and Road Development” was convened in Hong Kong, China on 24 September 2024. More than 500 delegates, including heads and deputy heads of tax authorities from nearly 50 jurisdictions and representatives and experts from 13 international organizations and more than 40 world-renowned enterprises attended this event both on-site and remotely.

Realizou-se entre 3 e 12 de Setembro no Complexo da Plataforma de Serviços para a Cooperação Comercial entre a China e os Países de Língua Portuguesa, o curso presencial de formação em matéria fiscal, organizado pela Academia Fiscal de Macau no Quadro da Iniciativa “Uma Faixa, Uma Rota” e coordenado pela Direcção dos Serviços de Tributação da Administração Tributária do Estado na Zona de Cooperação Aprofundada entre Guangdong e Macau em Hengqin. Desta vez, foram 7 países de língua portuguesa (incluindo: Angola, Brasil, Cabo Verde, Guiné-Bissau, Moçambique, São Tomé e Príncipe e Timor-Leste), com a participação de um total de 14 trabalhadores dos organismos fiscais.

O Director dos Serviços de Finanças, Dr. Iong Kong Leong, e o Director dos Serviços de Tributação de Guangdong da Administração Tributária do Estado, Dr. Wang Xuedong, assinaram, em 6 de Setembro, o “Memorando de Cooperação sobre a Criação da Academia Fiscal de Macau no Quadro da Iniciativa “Faixa e Rota” (Campus na Ilha de Hengqin) entre a Direcção dos Serviços de Tributação de Guangdong da Administração Tributária do Estado e a Direcção dos Serviços de Finanças do Governo da Região Administrativa Especial de Macau”, sendo oficialmente criada a referida Academia (Campus na Ilha de Hengqin) na Direcção dos Serviços de Tributação da Zona de Cooperação Aprofundada entre Guangdong e Macau em Hengqin, da Administração Tributária do Estado, na qual será realizada uma série de acções de formação transfronteiriça, aproveitando o papel de Macau como plataforma entre a China e os Países de Língua Portuguesa, contando ainda com os recursos de ensino em Hengqin para aprofundar o intercâmbio e a cooperação em matéria fiscal entre o Interior da China e os Países de Língua Portuguesa.
