On June 9th, the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Capacity Enhancement Group (BRITACEG) organized an exchange program, gathering the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Academy (BRITA)·Macao participants to visit the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin (hereafter referred to as Cooperation Zone). The BRITACEG’s Director, the Director of the BRITA·Macao, and the Director of the Financial Services Bureau of Macao, Mr. IONG Kong Leong, together with 13 tax officials from Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, and Sao Tome and Principe, participated in the Cooperation and Exchange Conference on Taxation in Support of the Promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and visited the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, and the Zhuhai Hengqin Bringbuys Network Technology Co., Ltd.

The Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (BRITACOM) Virtual Roundtable Meeting was convened on March 16 2023, hosted by Mr. Wang Daoshu, Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the BRITACOM and Deputy Commissioner of the State Taxation Administration (STA) of China and attended by representatives of BRITACOM Council Members, Observers, members of the Expert Advisory Board and members of the BRITJ Editorial Advisory Board. At the meeting, participants advised on and exchanged insights about the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Capacity Enhancement Group (BRITACEG) Curriculum System Version 1.0, the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Journal (BRITJ) and the 4th Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum (BRITACOF).

Subsequent to the Introduction of the BRITACEG Curriculum System issued on the 3rd BRITACOF in September 2022, The BRITACEG Curriculum System Version 1.0 has been formulated and is now released.

The Third Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum (BRITACOF) themed “Enhancing Tax Administration Capacity Building in the Post-Pandemic Era” was held between 19-21 September, 2022. Nearly 300 delegates, including heads of Ministry of Finance and Tax Authority from 40 jurisdictions and representatives from 12 international organizations, attended this event on site or online.

The Second Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum (BRITACOF) themed “Digitalization of Tax Administration” was convened virtually between 7-9 September, attracting heads and representatives of tax authorities from 61 jurisdictions including China, Kazakhstan, Algeria, UAE, Uruguay, Sierra Leone, Singapore, and Russia, and heads of 12 international organizations, as well as representatives from the academia and the business.
